Book Tag | My Intimidating TBR

I’ve seen this tag around Booktube for quite a while and I thought it looked like fun! I haven’t done a tag on here before so I thought this might be a good one to start with (even though no one tagged me! haha).

1. What book have you been unable to finish?
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I started reading this almost 2 years ago and I was really enjoying it, but for some reason I set it down and never picked it up again. It’s just sooo long. And the series is also sooo long. Hah. I definitely need to pick it up again though and finish it this time.
2.  What book have you yet to read becuase you just haven’t had the time?
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. This book is HUGE. It’s my mom’s absolute favorite book of all time, so I know I really need to read it at some point. I know I would like it, I just need to figure out a good time to start it! Maybe this summer!

3. What book have you yet to read because it’s a sequel?
A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab. I read A Darker Shade of Magic last year and loved it. Honestly I love everything V.E. Schwab has written. She’s my favorite author of all time (besides J.K. Rowling). But I know if I read this book I’ll be dying for the 3rd one which doesn’t come out until next year. So I might just wait until that one comes out so I can read them both back to back.

4. What book have you yet to read because it’s brand new?

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI’m going to assume this means brand new to me, and not brand new as in just published. So, my answer is going to be The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. I’ve wanted to read a Murakami novel for a while now but just haven’t gotten around to it! I bought this book a couple months ago so hopefully I can get to it soon!

5. What book have you yet to read because you read a book by the same author and didn’t enjoy it?
Wink, Poppy, Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke. I started to read Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea a few years ago but couldn’t get past the first few pages because the writing was just not my cup of tea. WPM sounds so good but I’m not sure if I should try it since I hated her writing style so much.
6. What book have you yet to read because you’ve just not been in the mood for it?
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I know, I know. I really need to read this! Especially now that the 2nd book is out!
7. What book have you yet to read because it’s humongous?
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I’m dying to read this honestly. The next time I’m craving reading a huge book, this is probably gonna be it.
FullSizeRender-98. What book have you yet to read because it was a cover buy that turned out to have poor reviews?

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. This was a 100% cover buy for me. I mean, the cover is gorgeous. But the book itself has definitely gotten mixed reviews. I honestly think it’s something that I would enjoy though so I plan on giving it a try here pretty soon.
9. What is the most intimidating book in your TBR pile?
Absolutey without a doubt House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. This book is just written so uniquely. Some of the pages have words written upside down or diagonally, and some pages only have one word total on them. I’ve heard many people say this is the scariest book they’ve ever read, and that it will seriously mess with your mind, which sounds SO AWESOME. I just need to work up the courage to actually give it a shot! Hah.

Gone With The Wind is my mom’s favourite, too! And I read it in summer last year. It really is long and took me quiet some while (I read some lighter books at the same time to compensate) but it’s such a great book. So much of it doesn’t come through in the movie, so it’s definitely worth a read!

I had the same exact problem with Outlander! I was enjoying it but had to put it down for one reason or another and totally forgot about it and haven’t had the urge to pick it back up. Now it’s been so long I’ll have to reread the entire first half over again. You should post when you decide to pick it back up. Maybe reading it at the same time as someone else might motivate me to finish it.
